Connor McCool is a 2027 MI/OF/P with a 5-11 142 lb. frame from Overland Park, KS who will attend Shawnee Mission South High School. Medium frame who is athletic, strong, has quick speed, with room to keep adding strength moving forward. Primary shortstop, but versatile anywhere on the field, has good mover and balance on the dirt, controls his body well and receives it clean, short quick release and enough arm for the left side. Versatile enough to catch and play the outfield as well, swallows up the ball, then makes the transfer and gets the ball out with some serious power behind it. Solid at the 3B position if needed there. A right-handed hitter with a wider base and hands set high. Uses a leg lift trigger with the hands starting tight to the body. Leverages the ball with a short path to it. Rotational swing through the zone, creating good contact and power. On the mound, a right-handed pitcher with quick arm speed. Can fill up the zone with strikes. Has good life on his fastball that was working up to 82 mph along with strong movement on his breaking ball. Excellent Student.
